All of sudden the aftershocks have stopped. Nothing in Baja has moved for about 6 hrs now. And from Ventura straight east to LA and San Ber counties it's all yellow except for a blue or two. When I zoomed in on the USGS map to the Baja area, the quake total reads 2700.

I believe it! Seems like there's nothing on the list but CA and MX! Smile Is that normal for it to stop like that after being nonstop for so long?

It's quiet Empty watch Riverside - Pamona area

Post  marc / berkeley Tue 13 Apr 2010, 4:59 pm

This area and the Parkfield-Hollister Area are the areas I am watching this week and the next three months.

The Baja area is so interesting, activity used to happen opposite syzygy windows. Jim Berkland gave the area a syzygy offset because it was so unique.

I also note that the last big M7.2 was on tha tail end of the window, so if there is any major action in the area, it might occur similiarly in the next window.

Arg, my head is killing me today, so I will post no more for today....

I can't help but note how quiet the Imperial fault has been thru all of the activity. It should be ready to go and give a pretty good M6+ event, but it's quiet, almost too quiet. Hope that's all it means!

PS. saw the M6.9 in China. This is the antipodal site to the big Chile quake. So quiet there, until now...amazing!
