It's the one area I have confidence with beyond any other. When nothing hit in my 2 day window I had a bad feeling because it was a whole day of feeling super pissed off with no external explanation. In fairness though I did not think we were talking an 8.8! Maybe high 6 or outside chance low to mid 7 with the delay. But the longer the wait, the bigger the quake, and with so many people reporting a spike in tones and weird south america related pains, it makes a lot of sense in hindsight.
I just hope the relatively good building codes down there due to the seismic history is going to mean the death toll stays low.
