Gulf of Mexico: MODIS Satellite Image 4/28/10

In the image just off the mouth of the Mississippi River you can see the large oil spill in this 1 kilometer/pixel resolution image.

Hi Bill-
I have been following this oil spill since it first began. This event is going to be a horrendous environmental disaster! I am surprised that there is not more discussion about this, but then I think people are just unaware of nature generally. Do you live near the gulf? Will this effect you directly?

I really do have an extremely bad feeling about this one, and we are at the very beginning of this catastrophe and the end is nowhere in sight. You take care and stay safe. Blessings- Paula.
