Having never had the odd sensation of sitting through an earthquake before, I thought that I was having heart palpitations or something. That's because the ground seemed to be pulsing beneath my feet and seemed to push the vibration upward through my bones and into my circulatory system. It reminded me of when I sometimes drink Grape juice to thin my blood through the anthrocyanins and then feel my circulatory system pulsing.

I am amazed you never wrote, being only a few towns over from Sacramento, the motion there near Hayward fault must get pronounced every once in a while.
