Dearth of Berths
The San Francisco Chronicle has recently published a story that describes how a major container ship port in Portland Oregon, previously hosting two shipping concerns :
Hanjin Shipping
Hapag-Lloyd
These concerns have stopped deliveries to ICTSI Oregon.
The management of the foreign companies' dockside freight operations have come under criticism, and the unions are also dissatisfied.
This comes on the heels of similar union activities near Los Angeles.
It speaks to us that imported goods will become less abundant.
See story at link about Asian freighter barges stopping their docking and unloading in the Portland Oregon area.
