    Raining oil reported in Florida! Mad This whole...GAH!...why do people destroy this living planet?!!! Drill oil and gasses, scrape out metals, dam water, cut precious trees! When is it going to stop?! We can LIVE without all these things, these...trappings in our lives!

    This makes my heart cry. I cry for my Mother.

    Dear Rose--would love to give you a big hug and say that I believe even those of us who are capitalists are extremely concerned about what we have done to our home planet.

    With the daily constant coverage of the increasing oil spill, we are all becoming painfully aware of what all of those luxuries have cost us.

    The mentality of the world is that we have to have a bigger house, tv, car, etc...more, more and lots more of more. As all those mores add up, so does the expenditure of energy to get them...a good thing in one way in that it puts people to work so they have money to acquire more of those things they think they cannot live without.

    But if our mentality would change to a philosophy of less is best, maybe the constant push would decrease and the expenditure of natural resouces would lessen. Alas, that point in time is behind us. The fact is, there are just flat too many people on this earth that continue to drain the available resources. Mother Earth finally has to dump the parasites and get rid of them. Those parasites are US!
