update, finally

okay, so the hematoma in brain is gone
fluid around hip joint
could be infection
2 more weeks of antibiotics
then 2 weeks off
then aspiration to get clean reading of fluid
til then, who knows if that is infection or not

that's it...
chest xray, smaller lungs, no fluid ... more breathing exercises and more upright sitting

It sounds like he is starting to stabalize. This is good. I would put off that hip replacement until he is completely well (with regards to that hip). His immune system has been greatly jepordized and he need time to get it back. I will keep you and him in my thought and send calming, healing energy.

he seems to be drowning in fluids.

our bodies get rid of fluids thru the movement of our skeletal structure...this moves the muscles and gets the organs to do they thang.

i am not offended in the least!

He claims he can get out of bed into a wheelchair on his own, dress himself, etc. They are sending him home in ten days because they say he doesn't need to be in nursing home if he's not getting antibiotics! He hasn't bathed on his own though.

I simply do not understand how they can expect him to come home and get around on his own for two weeks without a doctor monitoring what is happening off the antibiotics! I have 17 stairs to get to the front door! and in the house there are stairs. He claims he can used crutches....I guess we'll see. I'm scared for him, because if he falls, I can't pick him up, and yesterday I dislocated my left hip.

I can barely get around now myself...such awful searing pain I'm in.

So, time will tell what is happening with Michael, but he'll be home on his birthday!
