    The reckoning.

The reckoning oft comes when we expect it least. The little slips of tongue, effacing another's dignity with a bawdy reference, the maligning of the person who fetched the water like Gunga Din did-- all these put on display the common faults of every person called to traipse among the rich, profligate, the financial wizards of wall street. When the reckoning comes we shall wish that we had spent a life praying daily to learn how to forgive the trespasses against us. It's probably worse to despise the insulting strutting peacock, and better to quickly dismiss an impulse to advocate a heavy reckoning for slights of the ill-graced later in life, when just the big incidents count. I ken it'll be important at that time to have the fire of that charity in one's attitudes. Let's change now because conversion changes the understanding of the conduct one should display to all.

You're right, DearWife, about the dream, as in the dream, you're in a holding area, then it's clear that it was some day when the court was busy with many. The saints are called to a solemn duty and we hope that the mercy shines forth from those who have the grace to judge with charity. Who would want to be remembered for sitting in the congress of Robespierre's guillotine-mad congress? And what was the timing of this judgement?
